Our Governing Board
Governing Boards exist in schools to oversee the strategic direction of the school in its task of providing an excellent education for its pupils in a safe and happy environment and also to represent the interests of the wider community. We do this by working as a team with the professional staff and we try to bring our own professional expertise and our life experiences to enrich the management of the school. We are legally accountable for our decisions and for this reason we need to remain objective, not putting our own personal views above the needs of the school as a whole.
It’s not an easy job, but it is a very rewarding one! Each governor serves a term of four years and, from time to time, vacancies occur mid-term. We are always delighted to hear from parents or members of the village community who are considering becoming a school governor – to register an interest all you have to do is contact the school office and leave a message for our Clerk to Governors.
We are a friendly group of people, several of whom are parents, to whom you can easily chat at the school gate. If you have a particular interest or concern about school life the first point of contact is usually the Headteacher, Mrs Annette Faithfull. Should there be something that you feel should be brought to the attention of the governors, then please leave a message for the Clerk to Governors through the school office.
