The Nursery runs on a term-time only basis and is open 37 weeks a year. We are open 5 days a week and can offer before school and after school care which is led by a member of our teaching assistant team.

Our day is divided into the following two sessions;

Morning session 8.30 am - 12 pm 

All day 8.30 am - 3 pm

Nursery sessions are charged at £5.50 per hour which includes a snack. Fees are invoiced half termly. We can offer 15 and 30 hour funding for eligible children and can also accept childcare vouchers. Please ask if you require more information.

Before school care is available between 7.30 - 8.20 am at a cost of £4 per day. After school care is available between 3-5.30 pm  (3-4 pm £5.50, 3-5 pm £12, 3-5.30 pm £15 per hour)

A Typical Nursery day

At Cranborne Nursery a typical day would closely resemble the following;

08.20 Children arrive and engage in early morning activities

08.30 Registration, Hello time, introduction to the day’s learning, phonics/number input and dough disco

09.00 Child initiated free play within the classroom and outdoor learning space. Children will also complete adult initiated tasks across the week

10.15 Snack time followed by outdoor play

10.45 Child initiated free play within the classroom and outdoor learning space alongside adult initiated activities

11.30 Whole group carpet time – a number or phonics activity and story time

12 - 1 Lunchtime in our school hall, either a packed lunch from home or a hot meal prepared in our kitchen, followed by outdoor play

1 - 2.30 Small group activity such as circle time, dance or music, free play and afternoon snack
