Lunchtime break
There is a one-hour break between morning and afternoon sessions. This is to provide time for children and staff to have a midday break. Lunchtime Supervisors look after the children whilst they eat, then afterwards provide a variety of play activities during this time.
Children can enjoy a hot school meal cooked in our kitchen which can be ordered and paid for weekly or half-termly. Some families are entitled to free school meals if they are in receipt of certain benefits; please ask the school office for details. All children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are able to claim a hot school meal daily as part of the Universal Free School Meals Offer.
The children eat their hot school lunches and their packed lunches from home n the school hall, and quiet conversation and good manners are encouraged.
We ask parents to help us in the following ways:
- If your child has a packed lunch, please send food which your child enjoys, in an easy-to-eat way, (e.g. fruit chopped/peeled), in containers/packets that your child can open independently.
- Food packed in containers with lids should show your child’s name.
Drinking water is promoted for the children throughout the day, and parents must provide a bottle of water daily.
