Welcome to our Fledgling and Wren class, led by class teacher Miss Hudson and our teaching assistant Mrs Maple. In EYFS, we are passionate about guiding the children as they start their journey into school life, through exciting and explorative learning opportunities.

We believe that a rich learning environment is imperative to effective teaching and learning, and so we are striving to create an atmosphere of both purpose and wonderment.

We know that children benefit from stability and routine, so we have set times for learning and rest. We ensure that the children have a balance of individual play-based discovery, guided challenges and time for reflection.

We have a very positive attitude to health, safeguarding and children’s well-being, all of this being put into practice every day. We value the children’s thoughts and opinions and become inspired by their ideas for topics and learning challenges.

We encourage the children in their autonomous journey of development in our many learning spaces: the classroom, the covered outdoor area and the beautiful garden. We enjoy finding fun and exciting ways of sparking the children’s individual interests through their preferred style of learning. Our aim is to move the children on from the foundation stage with not only an early skill set in reading, writing and mathematics, but lifelong skills of problem solving, risk-taking and perseverance, with the confidence to learn through mistakes.

We wish our children to be confident and secure in their own individuality, happy to learn on their own and with others, and the strength to challenge and question. We know your child is special and unique and look forward to being part of their school journey.
